On “Little Car,” local absurdists Banny Grove continues the exploration of vehicular themes that informed the band’s 2017 EP, “Cars In Control.” The song appears on “4 Partners Road,” a split-album consisting of five Banny Grove tracks (two of which involve cars) and five tunes by NY art-pop duo Lily & Horn Horse, due out on cassette and digital April 30 from Nicey Music.

The video, directed by bandmember Peter Nichols, shows Banny Grove cruising down a lo-poly version of the 10 freeway. “Here is a traffic song,” says vocalist Louise Chicoine, “probably the most light-hearted song we’ve ever written, just a dainty request for thoughtful locomotion. Hopefully you can play it or sing it to yourself when you find yourself in one of those messes, and don’t forget to smile and love the people around you.”
