VIDEO PREMIERE: OTTOFIX “OFFERING” + 2 (MEM. TIJUANA PANTHERS)
Ottofix is the Tijuana Panthers drummer Phil Shaheen going negative—negative like a photographic negative, where everything is backward and frozen in high-contrast—on a wild synth-punk solo project that’s got plenty of the hardcore Devo (as in that collection of lo-fi sci-fi Devo demos that came out a bit back) aesthetic in sound and vision and plenty of the urgency and no-future bleakness of early OC punk bands like (especially like) the Middle Class, who’s “Out Of Vogue” single cover complements the Ottofix aesthetic nicely. Here are three high-velocity videos from his New Objectivity EP, available now digitally and as a very limited edition 7″ is available now from Innovative Leisure. One video above and two more plus the Ottofix bio-slash-manifesto below!
