L.A. RECORD party annihilators and excellent interview deliverers the Shrine are splitting Venice to get to the continent with the original but possibly less rock ‘n’ roll Venice, and they are Kickstartering to augment the savings they have saved from annihilating parties all summer. Explanation here:
We have now been offered the opportunity to open for king’s of the road FU MANCHU on their 15 country/24 show European tour Sept. 14 – Oct 12th. We would get to bring our breed of riff rocking jams to far off places such as Estonia and Vienna in addition to England, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the other usual suspects.
Fu Manchu have been badass enough to invite us along, but we need:
- Plane tickets to get there (about $3000)
- A van to drive in plus gas ( about $3000+$5000)
- A driver who can maneuver Europe (about $2000)
- Guitar and Bass Amps and a drumset (about $1000)After that we’re going to record some brand new tunes at Motorwolf Studios in Den Haag, Holland on their all-analog vintage gear, with the intention of using them for our new album. (about $1500-2000)
We’re looking at a rough total of $16000 to make this trip happen, but we’ve also been saving and think if we can raise at least $7450 it will be a massive help towards getting the job done. This is the chance of a lifetime and we wouldn’t ask if we didn’t think your contribution could make a gigantic difference!
Those who kick in can get Shrine-aphenalia like personal phone calls from the band—these are definitely worth $5, we can attest—or chunks of hair from undisclosed bodily regions and in-depth discussions on UFOs and more. (Shrine, have you guys checked out Operation: Trojan Horse? That’s a UFO classic.) Anyway, if you wanna fund something that will return an immense shred dividend, click here!
