L.A. RECORD had more fun than we could have ever reasonably expected serving as the Wal-Mart-style greeters at the PAPER magazine 24-hour-store. From our spot behind the sound booth, we got to hear (if not see) every single band with ultimate clarity. Luckily the PAPER people had the visuals covered and shot very classy photos of L.A. musicians like Lady Tigra (read interview), Nite Jewel, Blank Blue (read interview), the Entrance band (read interview), Pop Noir (browse illustrations), We Are The World, Django James And The Midnight Squires, the Shoe and Robedoor! Thanks to Jiro for shooting these and for coming by the booth to marvel at this issue’s Gaslamp Killer cover (read interview). Sadly not pictured here because it happened five minutes before the store was closed is possibly the best Night Horse performance ever.
