TRACK PREMIERE: MASTON “EVENING”

October 24th, 2017 | Listen

Tulips is the new album by L.A.’s Maston: it’s a sophisticated cinematic soundtrack looking for a film, or a library record from the best European studio house that never actually existed. (Or as our reviewer Madison Desler said: “It’s the perfect thing to pop on when you feel like starring in your very own movie.”) “Evening” is a perfect example of what Tulips is all about. It’s a mellow-but-never-shallow song balanced perfectly within its own negative space that sounds like it’d fit either a melancholy sunset meet at a Paris cafe or a tense street scene where our protagonist is surreptituously tracking a (stylish!) suspect through a constantly shifting crowd. Tulips is out this Friday, Oct. 27, on Phonoscopepre-order the LP here or get your digital pre-order on Spotify or Bandcamp!
