Never fear, Justin! We're not saying the band sucks... All of our featured interviews have titles like this, where we use a bizarre quote from the band to maximize the "WTF?" factor. It's definitely not our opinion of the band, but just a quotation from within the interview.

In the past they taglines have been far weirder, e.g. "I WOULD HAPPILY EAT A HUMAN!"

"Animal Collective: Be Prepared to Be Told You Suck?" I hope that title is just witty flashback humor regarding Noah's answer to the "cheap jokes" question. Animal Collective creates some of the most beautiful, melodic and bizarrely-revolutionary music out there. Its members are all extremely talented and creative; they are some of the finest musicians this world has to offer. Although they have a very, very limited selection of weird stuff that would make any close-minded individual ignorantly shake them off, that's the risk any band willing to put themselves out there and create as much music as Animal Collective has created has to take. A large majority of their large collection, on the other hand, is just undeniably good. I could listen to hours and hours of Animal Collective without repeating tracks and think "Damn, this is music at its finest," only to reset the playlist and fall in love all over again. AC offers such a broad range of catchy, love-encompassing melodies as well as intense background music that is all so perfectly placed together as to create a whole new sound on which the world of music can feast. Any well-balanced music-lover's diet should consist of multiple daily doses of Animal Collective.
