Catch That Rockabilly Fever by Sheree Homer is a candid account of life on the road and in the studio with '50s legends and today's talent. These are personal stories told by the artists themselves. It's a soft cover biography that will be published in October 2009 by McFarland Publishers and retail for $39.95. It will have never before seen photos (strictly 1950's photos of the legends) and rare stories from the artists themselves. Catch That Rockabilly Fever will be approximately 350 pages in length. It will be unlike any other rockabilly book on the market since it will include some of today's hottest young talent plus insightful stories from 1950's backing musicians and engineers for the first time, such as James Kirkland (Bob Luman, Ricky Nelson), Richie Frost (Ricky Nelson), Steve Handford (Bobby Lee Trammell), Tony Austin (Rock and Roll Trio), Stanley Walker (Ray Smith), Bobby Poe (Wanda Jackson), Vernon Sandusky (Big Al Downing) and Bob Sullivan (KWKH/Louisiana Hayride). Foreword by acclaimed writer Ken Burke.
These forty-six artists will have individual profiles and one glamorous photo per musician: Glen Glenn, Lew Williams, Art Adams, Marti Brom, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Bob Luman, Ed Bruce, Dickey Lee, Jack Earls, Hayden Thompson, Maddox Brothers and Rose, Sonny Burgess, Carl Mann, Ray Smith, Johnny Powers, Larry Donn, Pat Cupp, Ronnie Hawkins, Bobby Lee Trammell, Huelyn Duvall, Gene Summers, Sonny West, Buddy Holly, The Collins Kids, Wanda Jackson, Charlie Gracie, Big Al Downing, Laura Lee Perkins, The Rock and Roll Trio, Narvel Felts, The Dave and Deke Combo, Kim Lenz, Go Cat Go, High Noon, Larry Cole, Cari Lee Merritt, Josie Kreuzer, Eddie Clendening, Suzy and Buddy Dughi, The Casey Sisters, Carl Sonny Leyland, Dawn Shipley, Sue Moreno, Ruby Ann, and Tex Rubinowitz.
Here’s hoping everyone catches that rockabilly fever. Reserve your copy today. This is a must have for any rockabilly/rock and roll fan. Here is the direct link to McFarland’s website: http://www.mcfarlandpub.com/book-2.php?id=978-0-7864-3841-9.

Dear Friends
Glen is a wonderful man .
One thing I've learnt to know for the time I've spent with him is that he gives you what you ask for.Just mention any name from Lefty Frizzell to Elvis Presley or Bobby Bare , he has a story for you , a story he has seen with his eyes and this because Glen was at the epicenter of the crucial music changes that happened in the Fifties .This is why an interview with him can be endless and encyclopedic
But most of all ; Glen is a stylist
His songs are unique .While most of the Rockabilly performers were using 3 chords he used 4.His vocals were sharp and relax. The bassline in Everybody's movin is probably the most famous in the Rockabilly style. They are so many things to say about Glen but if you allow me this anecdote I won't bother you any longer.Glen was drafted around the same time than Elvis (early 1958).His record Laurie Ann was choosen by Dick Clark as the pick of the week and he was invited to perform the song live. The Army never let him go and Glen lost this nationwide exposure, but most of all when he came back in 1960 two of his friends were gone ; Richie Valens who used to come to Glen's shows and Glen allowed him to sing on stage while he was still unknown , and the other was Eddie Cochran.Glen was proud of them and is forever sad that he couldn't have told them how glad he was for them to be successful.I wish that every Californian who loves music consider to take the time to listen to Glen 's songs and/or to read about him
                  We'll never stop loving you

Howdy "one cigarette" Cats and "one cup of coffe" Kittens,

Great to seen Glen back in a California newspaper and giving us testimonies of the 50's when Rock started to roll. If you give him more room, he will tell you how Rose Maddox and Charline Arthur started to shake them hips before the Memphis Flash. He will tell you how Fred Maddox slapped hard those bull fiddle strings before the late great Bill Black ever record at 706 Union Avenue. Glen can tell you countless stories about Porter Wagoner, Johnny Cash first California trip, Carl Perkins "The God Father of Rock-a-Billy Music", Buck Owens, Joe Maphis "The king of the strings", the cute Collins Kids, Nudie's and Turk clothes, The Cochran Brothers before Eddie find his end in England ... That Missouri cat was there when it happened and can be called the first Hillbilly paparazi. His three pictures albums stacked with pics of Webb Pierce, Goldie Hill, The Farmers Boys, Elvis, Merle Travis, Freddy Hart or Wanda Jackson are fabulous.
When I bought my first Glen Glenn's recordings in 1977, that LP carried a star on the sleeve with the mention cover "Stars of Rock'n'Roll". It took me 30 years to give one copy to Glen for his 73th birthday. That record was issued on a short lived serie that featured also Johnny Burnette Rock'n'Roll Trio, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley, Conway Twitty but also "unknow legends" like Jimmy and Johnny, Jerry Engler, Johnny Carroll, Justin Tubb, Jackie Lee Cochran and old country boys turned "Rockbilly" for one shoot like Webb Pierce, Red Sovine, Wayne Raney or Roy Hall. Most of those recordings were done in Nashville's studio B with top cat musicians like Grady Martin, Hank Garland, Bob Moore, Pig Robbins or Buddy Harman. They rock great but sound "studio B". In that bunch of records then, and in the thousand I got since, there's only one singer who sound like anybody other ... Glen Glenn! There's one picker who sound like nobody other ... Gary Lambert! Wynn Stewart and Guybo Smith complete that band who worked that sound so particular ... The Glen Glenn's sound that make "Everybody's Movin'" from "Laurie Ann" to "Kathleen", from the "Bluejean and Boy's shirt" gals to "Jack and Jill"!
I am for sure a friend of Glen and we are thousands all around the world. They all join me to give him our warmest support on that present time. Those who are missing, from Janis to Patty, came along to say "Glen, you're the one for us"!
That email came from France but should have been sent from Japan.
Keep on rockin' but stop that cigarette, my Buddy!

Daiana, you Are a Moonage-daydream, no doubt about it now.
Amazing Interview! I’m green-fuzz with envy! Glen Glenn’s, “Everybody's Movin” was also among The Cramps early live set-list from ’77 to ’79. It’s on numerous bootlegs, and the compilation “Songs The Cramps Taught Us Vol. 2”
It’s also performed in the film "The Cramps: Live at Napa State Mental Hospital" DVD, from ’78.
It would be interesting to show it to Glen and see his response to 50 or so autistic’s, trannies, shitzo’s and run of the mill tards like me, rocking back and forth, grabbing the mike and howling like Banshees!
Plus I love all Glen’s mentioning of Bob Dylan! One thing I always wondered was if he had anything to do with the Glen Glenn Sound Company, that did everything from the Andy Griffith Show to Mission Impossible, but that was founded by a different ”Glen R. Glenn” in 1936 who did just about all the sound systems in movies and TV for 50 years, he's not his son maybe? He' be a Billionarie if he was.
Great review! You are Aces!
