Where are you from?
I am originally from Carson, CA.
Where do you live now?
Long Beach, CA.
Are you digital or vinyl?
Vinyl.
What mixer are you using?
Tascam X-9.
What needles are you using?
Stanton 680 HP.
What are your turntables of choice?
Technics 1200s though I like the new joints where you can go +/- 16.
First time you DJed and where?
The first time for real was up in San Francisco for a Ubiquity party at 111 Minna. I say for real because I got paid for it and there were a lot of people there. The turntables dangled from the ceiling and I was terrified.
Weirdest DJ gig?
House of Blues in Anaheim after a hair-stylist convention. Got into a fight with a greaseball jerk. Hated it—will never go there again. Spinderella followed me.
What are you playing in your set right now?
Lots of instrumental bangers from the usual suspects: Dilla, Lotus, Dabrye, P73, Hudson Mohawk, Ras G, Madlib, etc. Throw in a few psych joints: Can or Silver Apples.
What are you listening to in your car?
The Mars Volta’s The Bedlam in Goliath.
Last record you bought and where?
Atomic Rooster’s Death Walks Behind You on eBay.
Best record you scored for $1?
Alice Cooper’s second joint—last thing I can remember being stoked finding cheap.
