I think you have a great website and I had recently seen a Netflix movie about the Collins Kids and as a fan of Carl Perkins and rockabilly wondered how I had not heard of them before (being 78 years old).
I guess I was not as informed as I thought I was.
Appreciate your website and would appreciate any email info on the Collins Kids you would care to share.
Thank you in advance,
Charles A. Poythress

The attractiveness of both of the Collins comes from their smiles, their obvious enjoyment at what they did and are doing and the straight musical excitement they were (are) able to generate. Smiles, laughter and professional skill are winners and make the spectator smile and laugh too. That's infectious and fun. They have my every admiration.

To the poster (Joseph Gossey) here, and others, who want to know how to obtain the home video of The Collins Kids on Tex Ritter's "Town Hall Party" (repackaged by Screen Gems in syndication as "Western Ranch Party") TV series--

The shows, once only available in VHS format on the defunct, public domain Video Resources imprint, are now available on a 42-song DVD set (produced by Stomper Time, and derived from four episodes of the series) titled "Rockin' On Ranch Party." I'm sure you may find the title listed on the many, reputable websites which sell home video.

As this website probably eschews specific, commercial referrals, I'll just clue you in that you don't have to travel to the "Borders" of the "Amazon" to find this great DVD set, which also features such country & roots rock greats as The Burnette Bros. Trio, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Eddie Cochran, George Jones, Carl Perkins, and Gene Vincent, among many others.

And, FYI, Tex Ritter, the host of "Ranch Party" was also a movie cowboy, and the father of TV comic acting legend John Ritter ("Three's Company," "8 Simple Rules . . . For Dating My Teenage Daughter"), grandfather of actor Jason Ritter.

The show's announcer was Jay Stewart, who would go on to announce for "Let's Make A deal" with Monty Hall. Another regular "Ranch" hand was Bobby Helms, who recorded the original "Jingle Bell Rock."

Just for the sights & sounds of Larry Collins working his double-neck guitar like a big boy is worth the price of admission.
